Jewish

Nearly 5.5 billion people on this earth are among about 18,000,000, less than a third of the earth's population is classified as Jewish. Statistically, they can hardly be heard, just like the Ainu people tucked in the corner of Asia by historical observers. Jews sound totally disproportionate in their small numbers. In fact, their contribution to the row of big names in the world in religion, science, literature, music, finance, and philosophy is very surprising.

The period of the greatness of Ancient Greece lasted 500 years. Then, the nation fell into a group of shepherds and never regained its glory. Not so with the Jews. Their creative period extends through the entire history of those who are 4,000 years old. Their contributions have been absorbed by both the West and the East, even though they do not always realize it or are willing to admit it as debt.

From this nation, came Paul, the organizer of the Christian Church. This nation's religion influenced Islam and other religious organizations which more than 400,000,000 adherents claimed to be descendants of Abraham and Ismail. Mormons, for example, say that they are descended from Israeli tribes.

Jewish figures are respected by more than one billion people. He was Karl Marx whose book, Das Capital, became a secular gospel for Communists throughout the world, and the name "Marx" was enshrined in Russia and China. Albert Einstein, a Jewish mathematician, who delivered the world in the atomic age and paved the way for theoretical physics. A Jewish psychiatrist, Sigmund Freud, opened the "valve of the mind" of humans. His psychoanalysis revolutionized the concept of man and the relation of thought to matter.  One hundred years earlier, a Jewish philosopher, Baruch Spinoza, freed philosophy from mysticism and paved the way to racialism and modern science.

For centuries, successive Jews introduced the concept of prayer, church, redemption, universal education, pious charity. They did it hundreds of years before the world was ready to receive it. However, until 1948, to close 3,000 years, Jews did not even have their own country. They lived among the Babylonians, lived in the Hellenic world, stood in the land of the Roman Empire, flourished in the civilization of Muhammad, emerged from 1,200 years of darkness known as the Middle Ages, and rose to a new intellectual level in modern times.

The great pagans who came together with the birth of the Jewish nation were truly gone. The Babylonians, Persians, Phoenicians, Hittites, and Philistines had vanished from the face of the earth after once incarnating great and great power. The Chinese, Hindus and Egyptians are as old as the Jews who are still alive today. However, these three civilizations have only one major cultural period, their impact on successful civilizations is not yet great. They do not have seeds for their country and also do not face the problem of surviving on foreign land. The Greeks and Romans were other nations that influenced Western history as much as the Jews. However, people who now live in Greece and Italy are not the same as their predecessors who lived in Hellas and Ancient Rome.

Thus, there are three elements in the survival of Jews that make this history different from those of other nations. They have a life history that has continued to flow for 4,000 years and has become an intellectual and spiritual force for 3,000 years. They survive 3,000 years without their own country, but still maintain their ethnic identity among foreign cultures. They have expressed ideas not only in their own language, but in almost all the major languages of the world.

Few people know about Jewish works in every area of human thought. The reason for this is not hard to find. To read literature in French, German or English, people only need to know French, German, or English. However, to read Jewish literature and science, people not only had to know Hebrew and Yiddish, but also Aramaic, Arabic, Latin, Greek, and almost every modern European language.
